The Himlstejn Castle

The castle Himlštejn was built in the first half of the 15th century and underwent reconstruction in the same century.
It is connected with the nearby Horni hrad; Himlštejn, however, was only occipied by a burgrave. From the beginning of the 16th century, the castle started to deteriorate. Traces of a big and small gate and ramparts have survived. The ruin is erected on a hill rising over the village of Stráž nad Ohří, from whose centre there is a footpath to the castle.
